[Feature Request] Cycle Repeat Mode

Post by snake785 » Thu Aug 01, 2013 1:41 pm

Hi,

I have a very simple request regarding the behaviour of the Repeat Mode button on the Now Playing screen. Would it be possible to make this button configurable to cycle through each Repeat Mode every time you press the button instead of just toggling repeat mode on and off?

I change the repeat mode between repeat playlist and repeat track often and I've found it inefficient to long press the button and select the mode I wanted. If by pressing the repeat button and cycle through the different modes (playlist, track and off), it can greatly speed this up and improve the experience.

Btw, I like the new UI look. It's much more clean looking now. Keep up the great work!

Thanks,
Snake

Hi Snake!

Thank you for the proposal.

On the other hand quickly switching off the mode will not be easily achievable as user would need to press multiple times to switch it off. Also if user is in dynamic environment (car, bike...) there is probability that user will skip OFF state (due to shaking) and need to repeat presses again and so on.

So there are pros and cons for the proposed behavior to my view and so far I am not sure what is heavier... Will put it into to-do for further consideration.

Best regards,
Dmitry.

Ah, yes, I can understand it being difficult to work with in those scenarios.

How about adding it as an option in the playback mode settings? That way the user can decide to have the toggle or cycle functionality. That may work.
