OPUS: some problems with tags

Post by sounds » Tue Nov 27, 2012 2:55 pm

Hello!

I've bought today this great app, after testing it.
Thank you very much for making my (new) favourite lossy codec 'OPUS' aviable for my smartphone.
But unfortunately, there are some bugs ...

Database:
NeutronMP sometimes does not read the tag-information (sometimes he puts the 'album artist'-tag in front of the 'album'-tag, sometimes he completely ignore all stored data).

Replaygain:
The replaygain-information is also ignored.

I use foobar2000 for tagging & replaygain (the only software I know, which can handle OPUS too).

Thanks!

Hi!

I conform these problems with OPUS and would like to inform that since next update things will become better:
- full featured tags
- replay gain
- built-in album art

Thank you very much for the report, somehow support for above mentioned things for OPUS was missed.

Best regards,
Dmitry.

Hello Dmitry,

I'm very glad to hear that! Can't wait for the update :)

Oh, and by the way: I have also an problem with Replaygain and my Musepack SV8 files... (the display does not show any RG-information) ... should I open for this issue a new thread?

Best regards

Hi :)

> problem with Replaygain and my Musepack SV8 files

I confirm it. No need to create new thread as this is already fixed and after new update all will be ok.

Best regards,
Dmitry.

hi dmitry,

it's me again :)

I have updated today Netron MP to the newest version.
replaygain seems to work now, but there are still some problems with my tags on OPUS .... strange fact: it only occurs, when my files are tagged with '#Various' in %album artist%.

here are some commented screenshots, I hope they are helpfull:

hello dmitry,

I have replied to your email.

long story short: I have renamed the file extensions from ".ogg" to ".opus" ... and problem finally SOLVED :)

(regardless that ".ogg" seems to be the standart for OPUS-files :?: , I'm happy to have OPUS support on my smartphone. And for the future, I have changed settings in the foobar2000-Converter to get ".opus" files )

Hi! :)

Very good that problem is resolved. In the next update I hope Neutron will support OGG named OPUS files, so the problem you faced won't appear for other users in the same situation.

Best regards,
Dmitry.

Since one of the new updates OPUS problem returned - ReplayGain is not working. foobar2000 sees the tags nicely. Other formats (mp3, tak, flac) also work correctly. Fix this ASAP, please.

If the problem persists after a full rescan on the source then I would suggest you contact neutronmp@gmail.com and send them a ( preferably small ) example file.
