DSD over pcm stopped working
DSD over pcm stopped working
Hi, I update to latest version and now DSD over PCM produces just noise and the music is heard on a very low volume, seems like this is not working anymore.
Everything was working great yesterday, I am on LG V35.
Any ideas?

Re: DSD over pcm stopped working
Are the settings as they were before, e.g. DSD OVER PCM > Volume Control etc ? If yes, contact neutronmp@gmail.com .
Re: DSD over pcm stopped working
Same for me on my LG G7 thinq. No setting were changed. No music (not even at low volume) just noise now.
Music can only be heard when I choose to not use dsd over pcm.

Re: DSD over pcm stopped working
FAQ: What is DoP (DSD over PCM)?
Well, that seems to be the case. The original idea for DoP was invented by dCS in 2011. It involves taking groups of 16 adjacent 1-bit samples from a DSD stream and packing them into the lower 16 bits of a 24/176.4 data stream. Data from the other channel of the stereo pair is packed the same way. A specific marker code in the top 8 bits identifies the data stream as DoP, rather than PCM. The resulting DoP stream can be transmitted through existing 24/192-capable USB, AES, Dual AES or SPDIF interfaces to a DoP-compatible DAC, which reassembles the original stereo DSD data stream COMPLETELY UNCHANGED.
If something goes wrong and the data stream is decoded as PCM, the output will be low-level noise with faint music in the back ground, so it fails safely. This can happen if the computer erases the marker code by applying a volume adjustment.
Re: DSD over pcm stopped working
I could reproduce the effect. Did anybody write to the developer in the meantime ?
Re: DSD over pcm stopped working
Did this ever work properly ? On Windows I still use the old version 2.13.0, I can enable DoP, I hear sound
but I don't see "DSD" in the output info, only "PCM" :
And I can hear the effects of the DSP, which shouldn't be !
On Android I already have 2.13.1, there I have the noise-effect, and do see "DSD" in the output info :
So the question arises : what did neutron in the old Android-version show in the output info ? PCM ( as in my old Windows-version ) or DSD ( as in my new Android-version ) ? If it was "PCM", then perhaps it didn't really work at all, but converted to PCM anyway ? Does someone remember what it should in 2.13.0 ? And could you use the DSP ? Shouldn't have been possible, if it really worked.

Re: DSD over pcm stopped working
Yes, it used to work great on Android, the perceived difference was notorious, more blacks and more dynamic range with a bit of emphasis on mid range frequencies and more subtle bass.
I writed the developer on Friday, still waiting for his answer.

Re: DSD over pcm stopped working
Hi All,
I confirm that 2.13.1 broke DSD support for LG but it will be fixed by a hot-fix shortly, sorry for that!

Re: UPDATE! - DSD over pcm stopped working
Developer Dimitry sent me a corrected Neutron Dev Version, everything about DOP is fixed, works like a charm.
Thank you Dimitry.

Re: DSD over pcm stopped working
So when can we expect a fixed update on Google Play Store??
