Hi Everyone!
I would like to notify those who are unlucky owners of Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset in their mobile devices. It is now clearly seen that MSM7227 (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=cpu&id=a72 ... mm_msm7227) misbehaves and Neutron does not really work on such devices. If you are owner of such device, have knowledge of Android SDK I would appreciate your kind help in debugging the problem. MSM7227 seems is no longer produced but there are still many devices based on this chipset, so your help will be much appreciated!
Qualcomm MSM7227 problem
Re: Qualcomm MSM7227 problem
It seems that MSM chips have low memory bandwidth and are slow in 3D processing. Neutron uses own graphics rendering and thus requires hardware with good 3D processing. Although no special effects used for UI still some mobile devices with cheap hardware will not handle Neutron's UI as fast as needed and as a result UI responsiveness and Input events from your touches will get delayed.
Usually such cheap hardware does not have large screen size. As a rule of thumb, if resolution of your device is lower than 480x800 then most likely you may have problems with Neutron's UI, but of course all needs testing. MSM 7227 chip is one of black sheeps here
To circumvent this problem Neutron needs to have textures cut at least by 2 and may be it can be done for the future releases but it is not a priority.
