Hello,
What do you think a noise gate?
If I listening slightly loud music, I hear between the songs of the amplifier noise (ie no error of neutron).
Is it possible to disable the sound output from a level, or do you think it would be enough to set the volume to 0?
And if the sensitivity would be adjustable or the setting would be a part of the normalizing ... that would be cool
Best regards
andre

Re: noise gate
Hi Andre!
Do you mean that some of your recordings have noise which is recorded too and which you would like to eliminate with some kind of DSP effect/filter? Or do you mean the noise which is produced by Android device which you can hear when paused playback for example?
Best regards,
Dmitry.

Re: noise gate
Hi dmitrykos,
If I had my headphones on and no player has started, I hear almost no noise.
When I start any player (as an example neutron) my phone (a Dell Streak5) starts to rustle.
That will probably be because when switching on a media player the internal soundchip will be activated or the amplifier.
On the other hand, I have some old recordings from the LP-era
Which rush, of course, itself. But that belongs to the recording. Without noise and pops would be missing something
My idea would be the audio output (ie the soundchip) starting at a minimum playback volume turn off completely.
That I can not use the phone would not care.I disable, while listening to music, all other sound events anyway, so my next appointment reminder do not yells in my ear.
Ciao
Andre

Re: noise gate
I use neutron with a nexus s 4g, voodoo sound and shure 535 phones. To my ears there is absolute quiet between tracks and even on parts of tracks with no sound. I wonder if it has to do with hardware. On previous phones there was definitely more background noise.
Re: noise gate
Such type of noise is produced by audio hardware and thus there is no possibility to do anything with that in software. It is similar to consumer audio electronics, some models have low noise produced by decoder/amplifier, some higher. For example if you connect Galaxy S or SII to USB and start listening to music you will hear how data is flowing by USB
