Spectrum display tweaks and/or options?

Post by cggorman » Thu Oct 17, 2013 3:47 pm

I really love the addition of the spectrum display into the UI, but I wish it had a few options or tweaks.

The vast majority of the sound energy is contained within the lower 50% of the spectrum which leaves a lot of the available screen space empty and obscures some nice detail available in the lower 4-5 octaves. I think it would be great if we could see the spectrum frequency axis scaled logarithmically like a freq. response chart.

Also, I would love to be able to see the input/source spectrum as opposed to the output. I imagine many of us use the EQ to correct/tame transducers to reproduce a more "flat" response. Since the spectrum displays the output resulting from the EQ it can skew the visible amplitude well away from what we're actually hearing.

I ask too for a logaritmic scale...we have to wait.
