Problems with Cover Art and Ogg Vorbis Files

I discovered two big problems (bugs?):

1. NMP doesn't show cover art when the pictures are embedded in an Ogg Vorbis file (meta tag). But it displays the same picture files when they are
a) embedded in MP3 files
b) when they just are in the same folder as the music files (only in this case with ogg files)
But that means that it's not possible that ogg files could have different cover art when they are in the same folder.
With music players like foobar picture meta tags in ogg files are no problem, the are displayed correctly.

2. When music files (ogg or MP3) in different folders (!) are named the same album title in tags (in my case it was «Single» or «B-Side») the same cover art file is displayed!
In my case all music is sorted alphabetically in folders und subfolders (Music/artists/A...). When a music file in folder Music/artists/A/a-ha/Scoundrel days is named «B-Side» in tag «Album title», the cover art from this song is displayed with every other song that is called «B-Side» in Album title - no matter in which folder - Music/artists/Abba/The Album or Music/artists/L/John Lennon/Mind Games etc.

I tried over six hours to find out what the problem is, but I can't solve it satifactory. It makes no difference if cover art in meta tags is prefferred - the pictures aren't displayed with ogg files tags.

Well, it seems that Neutron uses exactly one (set of) album art file(s) for one album. As to the question what constitutes an album I suggest you set the AlbumArtist tags and tell Neutron in Settings > Media Library to use them.

As to the vorbis metadata I suggest you contact neutronmp@gmail.com and send them a small example file.

Ich versuche das mal mit deinem Tipp. Das Problem bei NMP ist ja, dass Änderungen bei geöffnetem Programm nicht immer gleich sichtbar werden. Manchmal muss man es erst schließen, manchmal stürzt es ab. Und meist muss man alle Daten noch mal einlesen lassen.

Was das «small example file» betrifft: Meinst du damit, an den Support eine Ogg-Datei mit Cover in den Metadaten zu schicken?

Ja, schick' ein ogg-File, mit dem Du das Verhalten reproduzieren kannst, dann können die sich das anschauen. Vielleicht ist es ein bug, vielleicht auch ein Feature. Was die Änderungen betrifft : die einzelnen Quellen müssen als zum Auffrischen gekennzeichnet sein

Und wenn er es trotzedem nicht automatisch tut, kann man die einzelnen Quelle oder alle Quellen auch manuell komplett einlesen lassen

Danke. Das habe ich alles so angeklickt.
Manchmal verschwindet aber der untere Check in meinem Screenshot.
Der obere ist eigentlich nie aktiv, wenn ich auf das Fenster gehe. Wenn ja, dann der untere nicht.
Wie kann man einen einzelnen Albenordner neu einlesen lassen? Geht das überhaupt?

Du kannst einzelne Quellen mit "Scan" neu einlesen, nicht einzelne Order. Wenn ein Einlesevorgang unterbrochen wird, etwa durch Ausschalten des Players, kann es sein, dass die betroffene Quelle von der automatischen Einlesung ausgeschlossen wird. Dann einfach wieder aktivieren.

Hab nun mal an den Support geschrieben.
Es gab hier noch ein paar andere Threads, die ein ähnliches Thema wie die doppelten Cover bei identischem Album-Namen unterschiedlicher Interpreten hatten. Einer bot eine Lösung an, die funktionierte, aber zur Folge hatte, dass mir die Cover nicht mehr in der Ordnerübersicht angezeigt werden.
