Keyboard Input Type For Search Issue
I have been seeing an issue on my LG G7 (Android 9, Software Version G710VM20g) where when opening search, the keyboard appears to be defaulting to email input. This is not a huge deal, but I find myself quite often trying to search for a song title, and inserting a "." rather than a space because of the arrangement of the keyboard (The keyboard is the stock KB from google that came on the phone, nothing fancy). Is this a bug, or is there a setting where I am able to alter this myself?

You don't have marked the Neutron app as default app for anything ?

I have the same issue with Gboard. It goes into e-mail mode in Neutron's Search bar.

I was wondering what reason the operating system might have to associate the Neutron app with the the writing of email.Mellow1301 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 6:09 pmNot sure what you're asking about? It is the keyboard layout for the search function.

Re: Keyboard Input Type For Search Issue
Android automatically switches the input mode according to the field which it is in. For example The fields which only allow to enter numbers automatically change the input to numerical and this also happens in incognito browsing mode. So there is something in Neutron's Search bar which is causing Android or Gboard to think that it's an email address input.blaubär wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 7:19 pmI was wondering what reason the operating system might have to associate the Neutron app with the the writing of email.Mellow1301 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 6:09 pmNot sure what you're asking about? Well, you can search for "@" ... so if the os decides if you can enter that character then it should take the mail keyboard ... that would be ok, I think

Okay, that was what I thought it was. One particular example (I believe in C++) was that within the code of the app you can have "InputType.TEXT" and other variations thereof, like "InputType.TEXT_VARIATION_EMAIL", etc. I do not know how that particular library determines its defaults, nor what specific library they were using.Lavi Jaat 1232 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 8:11 amAndroid automatically switches the input mode according to the field which it is in. I also know C++ but I don't think that Neutron is programmed in C++ because it is cross platform.Mellow1301 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 1:39 pmOkay, that was what I thought it was.
