Output scanning of network devices
Output scanning of network devices
Hi, I am in my testing period and I found the app to be very good, I can stream HI-Res audio files from en external public HD (SMB) to my devices at home, all from chromecast to sonos devices.
But there is one thing, every time I want to stream to a sonos device, Neutron app scan the network every time and it takes like 5 min or more to re-discover all devices again.
The chromecast are fast discovered but not the sonos.
Why the app scans all the time? Is a way to avoid this scanning thing all the time I want to stream to a device?
Thanks

Re: Output scanning of network devices
Have a look at the following topic : Long time discovering DLNA renderer that might be related
Re: Output scanning of network devices
yes, thanks, is related to that, but, I have a couple of other hiFi apps, and there is no issue there, so can the list of output devices be like saved instead of re-scanning every time?
Re: Output scanning of network devices
I suggest you contact neutronmp@gmail.com and ask the developer whether he knows a way to handle that better
Re: Output scanning of network devices
ok, thanks
Re: Output scanning of network devices
any success with the sonos device ?
Re: Output scanning of network devices
I'm having the same issue, though it is with the google home speakers & chromecast.
It can take several minutes for the app to find the speakers, sometimes it is quicker.
Other apps that use the cast function find the speakers within a matter of 5 seconds or so.
I wonder how other users are finding it?

Re: Output scanning of network devices
Please retry with Version 2.15.4

* Treat FTP entry as URL when opening track description dialog for a quicker access.
* Do not try to load network file's tags when opening playlist file to avoid large delay.
* Preserve network file when refreshing integrity to avoid blocked loading.
* Do not invalidate SMB source if shares were not detected but server is responding.
* Improved SMB source health detection on start and prevented SMB track unloading when health is being checked.
! Fixed:
- hi-res audio missing on some devices (NVIDIA Shield TV, USB DACs via Android and similar);
- external SD not detected on Samsung's Android 11;
- do not read ALBUMARTISTSORT tag to avoid incomplete Album Artist name (without A, The), ALBUMARTIST must be present instead (rescan source to correct database);
- compatibility with some streaming servers refusing to connect.

Re: Output scanning of network devices
Had similar issue. Resolved by increasing the 'SMB/CIFS State Check, Time (min)' value in Settings/Network.
Re: Output scanning of network devices
The last two updates did not fix this.
I tried the suggestion above from @azamsaghir but no joy either. what kind of Time did you find success at?
