Same song appears 4 times after scan?
Same song appears 4 times after scan?
As topic. I have 4 examples of each song after initial scan?? How do I get rid of the other 3?
Re: Same song appears 4 times after scan?
What does the file info for the 4 tracks tell you about their filename and folder ?
How many sources do you have ? Could it be that the same track is covered by mutiple sources ?

Re: Same song appears 4 times after scan?
I've deleted all sources and am trying to start again. Unfortunately it is no longer seeing my UPNP/DLNA devices. I was able to see my NAS before but now everything is missing?? Do you have to tick a setting to allow devices to see the app?
Re: Same song appears 4 times after scan?
Afaik you'll have to add a source of type "UPnP/DLNA".
Re: Same song appears 4 times after scan?
And you'll have to enable Settings > User Interface > Optional Features > Network
Re: Same song appears 4 times after scan?
I found the problem was with my phone. It was on do not disturb. No idea why but it effectively blocked the Wi-Fi network so of course it wasn't connecting to the NAS. It is now scanning the folder that contains the music but I still can't see what it is doing and whether the music is being "added". Thanks for your help so far, very useful.
Re: Same song appears 4 times after scan?
It now appears to be scanning properly. By the way I did have all the optional features checked. I have a reasonably large collection circa 15,000 songs so expecting it to take quite a while to finish the scan.
Re: Same song appears 4 times after scan?
Oh dear. I now have 5 versions of each song!
Re: Same song appears 4 times after scan?
They all come from the same network folder (called Music) but they do have slightly different path names e.g one is /Music/Genre/Protopunk another is /Music/Album/#1 Record\/Radio City. Another is /Music/Rating/0 Star. Another is /Music/Artist/Big Star. And finally the 5th one is /Music/Songs
Three of them took up to 3 minutes to open 2 were almost instantaneous. Looking at the file pathnames I wonder if this is a tagging issue. It looks like the file path has been viewed as 5 pieces of information relating to different songs instead of just one.
