Neutron and Filenames
Hello!
Neutron by default splits all multitrack files into the tracks; this is in principle a fine and unique feature, but very often the resulting track list becomes very confusing for me.
Is there a switch which tells neutron just to show the file names, and expand them only on demand ?
Thanks in advance from
Dobermann

Re: Neutron and Filenames
So you have one file ( of which type ? ) which consists of several tracks. Neutron correctly recognizes the tracks. There's no issue about how the track list / album / folder is defined. Correct ?Dobermann10 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 8:14 amNeutron by default splits all multitrack files into the tracks; this is in principle a fine and unique feature, but very often the resulting track list becomes very confusing for me.

When you are in the track list and do a long press on the top entry identifying the list, or one step in the hierarchy above and do a long press an the track list entry, you can invoke its setup. There are several options about what to do with the file name.

Thank you for your fast and helpful answer!
One Problem still remains: all the flac-files in a directory are still split into their tracks, of course they get other names,
Can I restrict the track splitting to just the file of interest?

Re: Neutron and Filenames
How are the tracks defined ? By an external cue-file ? Or does the flac-file itself contain some sort of metadata ?Dobermann10 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 9:27 amOne Problem still remains: all the flac-files in a directory are still split into their tracks, of course they get other names,

Re: Neutron and Filenames
The flac-file does contain metadata i.e. embedded cuesheets produced by foobar2000.
Re: Neutron and Filenames
I don't know any option to disable interpreting metadata. What if you don't use the metadata-dependent library views like album but select the music by folders for the compound flac-files that you don't want to split ? Do they show up as single files in the folder view ?
Re: Neutron and Filenames
If they don't show up as single files then you'd have to browse the directory with whatever file explorer you have and open the files with neutron from there
