Not compatible with system DSP
Vivo NEX 3: a host of third-party audio players and radio players don’t support Vivo’s EQ, including Neutron, JetAudio, and PowerAmp, and as system DSP is superior to third-party EQ it’s a real let down. The NEX 3 audio player - with root/sub-folders non-existent – is awful.
Vivo support in reply to my query merely stated: “System sound is only compatible with some music players.”
So is it up to developers to create that compatibility? If so, maybe the Neutron dev could support the OS.
I’ve nothing against Chinese operating systems, my OPPO phone has ColorOS and no compatibility issues whatsoever, but Vivo’s Funtouch OS is a pain.

So you can't install Neutron on Vivo Nex 3 ? Is that your problem ?

Re: Not compatible with system DSP
As I said, Neutron as well as the others mentioned don't support the system DSP, so I can't use the system EQ with the player. I have enabled "DSP effect (device)" in Settings, of course.

But Neutron works, including Neutron's DSP ? And why would you want to use the system EQ ?NaturalBlood wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 3:14 pmAs I said, Neutron as well as the others mentioned don't support the system DSP, so I can't use the system EQ with the player. I don't believe that, not with regard to Neutron's DSP.NaturalBlood wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 2:44 pmand as system DSP is superior to third-party EQ it’s a real let down.

Re: Not compatible with system DSP
Yes, it works. But not with the system EQ.
Without doubt Neutron's DSP is the best third-party EQ. But no third-party EQ can compete with the system EQ as far as power, volume, and skull-rattling bass is concerned. That's why Viper4Android requires root... to become the system DSP (can't root NEX 3 unfortunately). On my OPPO Find 7 is system MaxxAudio - and it's quite incredible, no third-party EQ comes close. And I'm sure you've had the misfortune of hearing the plethora of third-party EQ apps... they're terrible.
Anyway, we all have our preferences. I just want to know if Neutron's dev can somehow make the player compatible with NEX 3's system DSP.

Re: Not compatible with system DSP
Okay, so you want power, volume, and skull-rattling bass ... ever tried the "Bass Booster" EQ-Preset ?
In case the +/- 12 dB range isn't enough, you can expand that in the eq setup
I tried the system eq on my Samsung S9, it works together with Neutron if I use the speakers as output, but not if I use the wired headphones. It might further depend on the driver ( Generic or not in Settings > Audio Hardware ). Should you want to pursue this further, write to the developer at neutronmp@gmail.com .

Yes, it also depends on Settings > Audio Hardware > Generic Driver
Do you have that setting ? Try to uncheck, does it work then ?

Re: Not compatible with system DSP
You're going nowhere with this argument.
No.
If the developer doesn't read the forum then I'll certainly contact him.
Re: Not compatible with system DSP
so could the developer help you ?
