Neutron setting caraudio
Neutron setting caraudio
hello,
i have a joying unit with intel SC9853i processor in my car with android 8.1. i have ,of course, the magnific Neutron app to read all my Flac and hi-res files where are in the unit memory and in a 240 gb ssd.
the output unit is a spdif digital. the signal enter in a minidsp 2x8 DSP in the spdif input.
what are the best Neutron setting for my installation ? is there already a thread which talking of that ?
thanks very much !!!

Re: Neutron setting caraudio
So with the default options it works fine ? In the unlikely case that you should hear any difference if you switch on the 64-bit-processing and the audiophile resampling then do so, and if you can live without fading when you switch between tracks with different sampling rates you can activate follow source frequency.
The most important thing to do is to find an equalizer setting that compensates the car acoustics. Feed pink noise ( there are test files on the internet ) and analyze the output eg with spectroid app, then compensate with the equalizer.
And, as the car won't be silent while driving, you might have a look at the dynamics compressor, otherwise you won't hear the silent parts of your music, should there be any.

An exemplary eq setting :

My favourite compressor setting :

Pink noise files can be obtained here : https://www.audiocheck.net/testtones_pinknoise.php
Re: Neutron setting caraudio
And with that you should see a uniform output per frequency in spectroid, unlike this exanple :
Re: Neutron setting caraudio
Thanks for answer. My égaliser setting was already doing with my minidsp 2x8. Output Neutron is flat. I would like Just help to setting neutron parameters to have the Best signal to enter in minidsp.
I have only flac and hi-Res files. I choise output 64 bits for example ?

Re: Neutron setting caraudio
Well, if it offers you an option for 64bit output, then try it out. In the worst case it gets cut back to 32 bit, but I doubt that anybody would hear a difference.
Re: Neutron setting caraudio
It just came into my mind that if you really don't change the sound at all, that is if you use Neutron as a bit perfect player, then it won't change the additional 32-48 bits that you add if you process your 16-32-bit music file with 64-bit-logic, so these bits remain set to zero, it it doesn't matter at all whether you add them to the output or not. And it doesn't make sense to use 64-bit-logic in the first placeThierry34 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 9:28 amThanks for answer. My égaliser setting was already doing with my minidsp 2x8. Re: Neutron setting caraudio
