I have a My Book Live external HD, when I access this from Neutron it plays about 5/6 tracks then freezes when I search and play other tracks. It does eventually play but after a delay of 1 or 2 minutes?
Any Ideas?

Could you give us more information ? Device, OS, Version of Neutron, what exactly is "My Book Live", how is it connected to the device, how does Neutron access it, etc . A screenshot of your source settings might be helpful too.

I access it via the network view in settings
I'm on android version 8.1.0.
Neutron version 2.12.8-ARM64
When i play music with Neutron, it plays maybe 5 or 6 tracks. Then when I choose another track to play, it finds it straight away, but says loading for maybe 1 or to minutes
Just to say BTW I can't fault the sound quality given by Neutron or the many functions it offers. No other media player comes close (and believe me I've tried countless others!!). Just this slight bugbear

You could try to increase the buffer size and preload in Settings > Network.

What do these settings actually do? they are both set to 5 seconds, what do you recomend?

I would guess that they describe what data to keep loaded in advance. Might be worth a try, perhaps the defaults in NMP aren't the best possible values for you. Might even work better when reduced. I'd try anything from min to max and see what happens.
