Gapless playback on Playbook

Post by gouster » Tue Sep 25, 2012 1:08 pm

I've just upgraded to version 1.63 and things seem to be working well. However, I've noticed with gapless playback that there is a stutter as one track moves into another. I've just been playing a live album and this stutter is quite obvious - has anyone else noticed this?

It is probably not sluttering but gap between tracks. You could try enabling Zero Trimming in Neutron UI -> Settings -> Gapless -> switch on TRIM ZERO. This is if you are you playing MP3s, other formats are gapless natively (I am not sure about AAC although).

These tracks are AAC (basically, I've copied my iTunes library into the Playbook). I didn't want to highlight it as a fault in case it was something that I have caused. Therefore, if no-one else has the problem then it must be something I have done. Meanwhile, I'll try the TRIM ZERO feature.

Unfortunately trimming is currently available for MP3s only (other popular formats except AAC are gapless natively). I will put into to-do implementation for AAC for next update.

I have AAC samples but none of them from gapless albums, if you have such which are meant to be gapless would you please e-mail 2 files (where one is following another gaplessly) to: neutronmp@gmail.com. It would help a lot.

Hi

I have e-mailed AAC samples to you, as requested. Incidentally, the TRIM ZERO feature made no difference.

Update: The e-mail bounced for the following reason...

'neutronmp@gmail.com' on 26/09/2012 00:02
552 Message size exceeds fixed maximum message size: 15728640 bytes

Do you have an alternate e-mail address I can send them to?
