Dumbest thing...

Post by NaturalBlood » Mon Jul 29, 2019 4:09 am

Five FLAC tracks in a folder - each track multiplied EIGHT times, so FORTY tracks listed when there should be only five. Other players show five, file explorer shows five.

Rescanned, no difference. Deleted Neutron database, no difference. Deleted the tracks from phone thinking they might be corrupt and replaced them, no difference. There's nothing wrong with these five files.

I've never encountered such a stupid thing.

After deleting the files and rescanning neutron didn't show them any more ? But after re-adding the files neutron again showed them multiplied ...
In PowerAmp some users report strange effects if cue-files are present ... but you don't have cue-files referring to these flacs somewhere on your system ?
What about the tags - perhaps these cause the trouble ? Could you remove the tags and rescan ?

I removed tags and that did the trick, retagged them and everything's fine. Curious though, I had no problems in JetAudio and Poweramp.

Thanks for your help.

It sometimes happens that a file has multiple tags, such things are known to cause confusion.

Duplicates also can be caused by a symbolic links, therefore you just need to delete default source entry, create new one and manually point it to the music folder.
