hi resolution output to Chromecast

When outputting 24-96 files to Chromecast or Chromecast Audio, Neutron on my computer shows it's playing 24-96, but my DAC displays 24-44.1. I've tried changing all seemingly relevant settings in Neutron but nothing changes. When my computer is directly connected to the DAC via USB, the DAC shows 24-96. Any ideas? Thanks.
