Track stops on bluetooth disconnect instead of pause

NMP latest, Android.
Phone connects to my car stereo via bluetooth. I'm used to turning off the car, and having the track I'm listening to pause-- thus keeping my spot.
Sometimes (maybe it's when I just shut the car off rather than hitting pause, I'm not sure, I can't repro 100% yet), the track instead STOPS, and loses where I was in the track. This is especially annoying when listening to long podcasts.
I have "Stop if Output Detached" checked to true, because if I didn't, sometimes Neutron would keep playing after I shut off the car.
Is there a configuration I'm missing to tell it "no, seriously, only ever PAUSE on disconnect, never stop and lose my place, please please pretty please"?
