[FIXED] Unknown artist based on filename

Post by allwi » Wed Oct 30, 2013 12:38 am

Hi,

I had an issue with a mp3 file. When I included it, it created an entry for the artist 'Well'.
After some testing, I found that this behaviour was related to the filename:

Code: Select all

07 Well, Did You Evah.mp3
I.e. for some reason the first word before the comma was used as the artist (instead of the artist field of the mp3 tag).

I checked my MediaLib settings but couldn't find any setting related to this.
Is this a feature or a bug?
Can I disable this behaviour? As a workaround renaming the file to

Code: Select all

07 Well Did You Evah.mp3
i.e. without comma, works well.

Cheers

There is no specific setting for guessing the metadata from the filename. Splitting sections of filename using , as delimiter is anyway a mistake in Neutron's scanning code because , is used mostly (or even only) in the title text. This logic will be improved.

Must be ok in 1.75.3 which is released today to BlackBerry platform. You need to force [SCAN] on each source entry and Neutron will update its database.
