Just wondering what is the fix for BlackBerry? I can't find neon in BlackBerry world. Thanks!

Just uninstall standard one and install NEON and it will start. Somehow Android is not updating app of the same version correctly.
Will this cause a licensing problem? I ran into this after uninstalling/reinstalling several times, after a week or so I got a message indicating my trial period was over. The only way I could get it back was to reinstall from the Google Play store, which I believe only has the non-NEON version.

Another update:

After quite a bit of experimentation, I have found that the only way to get Neutron running reliably on my device now is to install it directly from the Google Play Store. If I then uninstall it and install one of the APK's (either NEON or standard), I get the random crashing behavior. Uninstalling at that point, then reinstalling from Google, gives me a stable player.

Dmitry, any thoughts on what could cause this?

Hello Dmitry,

I just wanted to let you know that 1.76.1, NEON version, appears to be completely stable on my device. Thanks for fixing whatever was causing the crashes.

Matt, that's great! 1.76.1 had quite many crash fixes thanks to porting to Tizen and iOS platforms. Those dev. devices behaved differently than dev. Android devices and triggered bugs. I am sure there can be more but the work on Neutron never stops, so in the long run Neutron will become really stable. Of course on the other hand there are issues caused solely by OS by its firmware bugs.

All the best,
Dmitry.

So, would converting Neutron to system app fix the glitches problem?

Hi all,

I've been having the glitches problem as well on my Galasy S4 E330K version (playing with my car BT stereo), which is a very powerful Korean model. I tried what was suggested in this thread but nothing helped, until I moved to 32bit processing - glitches problem never repeated since I've done this. Then again, It didn't seem logical, since the app supports 64bit processing as stated by the developers, so I tried something else I suspected: I put on 64bit, but this time disabled Lock Screen "Start UI before standard lock screen if playback is active". So now I have 64bit processing and no glitches.

I also have such problem when play *.cue + *.ape but do not have problem when play MP3 or *.cue + *.wav.

Same problem here, noise like a scratched vinyl.

Nexus 5 android 4.4.2 last update installed.

Software has been bought, I would like to know if there is a way to be able to listen to my music without glitches.

Hi Dimitri,

below please find some more information on which HW/SW configurations glitches/clicks appear too. Please tell if you will need more info.

For me this issue happens on multiple phones/Neutron settings, and details below describe settings where issue DOES occur, unless stated otherwise. I tried different settings, which in my opinion could eliminate glitching, but did not succeed. Below I provide only the settings, which are applicable IMO.

==================================

1. Phone: HTC 1 M8
Neutron versions: 1.87.1, 1.88.1
64-Bit Processing: on/off
VEC: NEON
DRV: OpenSl ES
Direct USB driver: on
32-bit Output: on/off
Frequency: 48000
Hardware latency: 2-192

**********************************
2. Phone: Alcatel 8008D: issue never occurs
Neutron versions: 1.87.1, 1.88.1
64-Bit Processing: on/off
VEC: NEON
DRV: OpenSl ES
Direct USB driver: on
32-bit Output: on/off
Frequency: 44100
Hardware latency: 2-192
**********************************

In below two configurations audio data is sent via USB to external DAC "Oppo HA-2", and this is where
severe glitching/clicking occurs.

3. Phone: HTC 1 M8
Neutron versions: 1.87.1, 1.88.1
64-Bit Processing: on/off
VEC: NEON
DRV: Oppo
Direct USB driver: on
32-bit Output: on/off
Frequency: 44100-352800
Hardware latency:
0-30: extreme glitching
300-400: less glitching

4. Phone: Alcatel 8008D
Neutron versions: 1.87.1, 1.88.1
64-Bit Processing: on/off
VEC: NEON
DRV: Oppo
Direct USB driver: on
32-bit Output: on/off
Frequency: 44100-352800
Hardware latency:
0-30: extreme glitching
300-398: less glitching

Audio source: MP3, FLAC, WAV, WV, with whole bunch of different frequencies, 16-bit; it seems that on some MP3s glitching/clicking is much worse, than on FLACs, surprisingly.

================================

It seems, that on HTC 1 with external DAC plugged in glitching disappears after long continuing listening. (I cannot tell exactly after which period of time, and I'm not sure here), but once another song is selected or forwarded to - glitching always reappears.

NOTE: the same issue with glitching occur in Onkyo HF player, when data is sent through USB to external DAC, hence I believe the problem exists not only in Neutron player.
