[FIXED] High CPU utilization during idle

Post by flooger » Mon Sep 02, 2013 10:09 pm

Hi,

I just downloaded Neutron for my BB Q10 and noted massive battery drain. So, I changed the resampling to the lightest level, but there was still massive drain. I noted that during idle, the CPU was 50% busy, which was taken up by the System process. After killing Neutron, the 50% utilization disappeared.

What's needed to troubleshoot the problem? Failing that, I'll happily take a refund :)

I can confirm that the battery drain/cpu usage is high, regardless if playing or idle. I have a Z10 with the latest 10.1

Today 1.74.3 update is released. The problem must be eliminated. Could reproduce on Q10 under 10.2, currently on 1.74.3 is working as expected. Would you please update to it and check how it is working on your devices.

Yup, it appears as though the problem is gone. I think I'll be sticking with the stock player though. Neutron still uses more CPU (to be expected) but there's little to no benefit for these ears. I like the EQ but it makes the audio prone to overload, which is more of a pain than it's worth.

Cheers

just updated to newest version and it seems to work perfectly now.i will use neutron player because

1 FOLDER BROWSING(enough reason to use neutronmp for me)

2 better EQ than my rockboxed diymod ipod !

3 gapless playback and replay gain is usefull

currently using my q10 with sennheiser ie80

thanks for fix!!

Do not push low band too high. Also have AGP function switch on and in its settings make sure RESET GAIN is 0 or lower. I never get overloaded with slightly increased low band. To be 100% safe from overloads simply do normalization of albums/folders: long press album/folder -> BIND EQ -> NORMALIZE -> ALL -> confirm. Normalization does not alter file contents it is pure Neutron side functionality.
