May be try uninstalling/installing from Google Play client if you purchase via Google Play and it will start working fine? Android Auto should not affect license check. Try uninstalling Neutron and install from Google Play Store again, it must help. Settings will not be lost.

Sound output does not depend on Android Auto. Android Auto is just the way to browse media library and show the Playing Now info.

DOP mode can not have volume management, only some DAPs can do it (Fiio, iBasso, Cayin).

If you wish to listen to tracks intermixed with native DSD then it is better to switch off DSD, DSD over PCM option and let Neutron decode it to PCM.
