This was the advice of the support:
May be it is due to Hi-Res Codec option in Audio Hardware -> Generic
Diver settings group? Please check it and disable Hi-Res Codec.

reset to Defaults in Settings > Audio Hardware : it doesn't help
uninstalling and reinstalling neutron : it doesn't help
