Version for Nvidia Shield?

Post by depechefan » Thu Sep 19, 2019 6:26 pm

Hi,

Would it be possible to make a version of this player for Nvidia Shield? I'm really missing a music player for audiophiles. One which can pass through for instance DSD/DSF music via HDMI.

Fingers crossed :-)

I'm using Neutron - ARMv8 + NEON + (64-bit) (#4) on an Nvidia Shield TV unit, to play High Res Music direct to an External DAC > Receiver > Home Stereo Speakers.

Using an Nvidia Shield TV. Not sure if there are different versions?

When I look in the App Store I can't find the Neutron app.

Also: Is is necessary to have an external DAC? I don't understand why that would be required. At least on paper my Sony STR-DN 1080 receiver should support DSD over HDMI.

There's also a tablet with that name, that was the reason for the question.

Then you'll have to use an apk from the downloads section.

Probably not, ask AVL or write to Nvidia or try it out.

Will Neutron work on my Shield TV when it isn't a touch screen?

Which version do I need to download for the NVidia Shield TV Pro? I know the Tegra X1+ is an ARM CPU, but I'm not sure which version that means for Neutron. I see multiple versions on the download page.
I have the paid, full version of Neutron, and love the app. Will I still be able to use my full version if I'm not downloading from the Play Store? My NVidia Shield TV Pro is logged in with my account.

See Buy :
Android: Google Play Store
The purchase is done according standard Google's Play Store terms via the Play Store client application. The license is valid for the unlimited number of downloads, installations and updates for the lifetime of the Google account. The validation of the license is done by the Play Store client application which must be installed on your Android device.
So as long as the Google Play Store and its services work and the Neutron apk is supposed to work with Playstore it should work. Try it out.
