Re: EQ Sharing
I`m a complete newbie to equalization. I have a Takstar HD 2000 and want to eq the treble and add some crosfeed to gain soundstage.TYA wrote:If you want to set EQ this may helps.
A. Tool
1. PA tonehttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dutchmatic.patone
2. Excell files for eq drawer (2 files)
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0LusFz ... cslist_api
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0LusFz ... cslist_api
B. Hw
1. Smartphone with NeutronMp and PA tone above installed.
2. Your Headphone
C. How.
1. Run PA tone app with Headphone attached on your smartphone.
You find response of frequency of your ear&your smartphone&headphone.
If need, download sweep.wav and run it by NeutronMp with EQ OFF to see some detail places where gain changes increase or decrease. (Enlarged visual bars section of Neutron).
2. Open xls files and keyin parameters.
When EQ looks like COMPENSATION (REVERSE OF) results in step1, it may be OK.
3. Set eq for Neutron app as same data in xls file.
4. Run sweep.wav (search internet or any kind, 10hz-20khz range sweep in 20secs, for example) by neutron.
Turn ON its EQ.
If your hearing from headphone is flatter than before, you can finish now.
Btw, if you wonder my xls file is accurate or not, do the RMAA test, I am sure result of frequency response is same as you see in xls
Rightmark audio Analyse ( RMAA ) softwarehttp://audio.rightmark.org
You might need a time study if do this test.
Have your good time!
I have try following th tutorials n head-fi but ended feeling really dumb
I have bought Neutro specially for the parametric equalization... But until now i`m completely lost.
Can someone, a good soul, elaborate more the above instructions?

Here is my preset for rock https://www.dropbox.com/sh/79vptj3bokna ... nZG-a?dl=0
Re: EQ Sharing
Here's my eq preset... An insane work on low and mid frequencies (a bit of highs too)... File in the link below along with some additional settings...make sure to select "insanity part a" as the active preset....
Preset was made keeping skrillex, noisia and kendrick lamar in mind though it can be used with any genere or artist..
Warning:- the eq is holding insane bass tweaks do not use for long periods with earphones...
enjoy...

Re: EQ Sharing
Hello, since i have worked couple of hours on it i thought i should share this with someone who might need it. I got a pair of Fiio F9 Pro's and i use them with my LG V20. (This settings might be a bit subjective but i like all my IEMs similar to this frequency response. If it is too warm for a song just cut the Low Shelf a couple dBs.) Here my eq settings for this setup:
High Shelf: 15 KHz; Q 1.25; Gain 3 dB
Peak: 8 KHz; Q 2; Gain -10dB
Peak: 3.2 KHz; Q 2.39; Gain 5 dB
Peak: 2.2 KHz; Q 2.98; Gain -5 dB
Peak: 170 KHz; Q 0.84; Gain -5 dB
Low Shelf: 65 Hz; Q 1.25; Gain 5 dB
High Pass: 20 Hz; Q 1.25; Gain 0 dB

Re: EQ Sharing
What's the point in sharing EQ's if most of you are not talking which headphones / IEMs / loudspeakers are you equalizing?
Re: EQ Sharing
There are two very distinct purposes for an EQ. You can use it to equalize your not-so-perfect hardware and hearing. Or you can use it to alter the music. I guess they are doing the latter.
Re: EQ Sharing
LOL it doesnt matter because the EQ will sound different in every headphones depending on their specs You must tailor the EQ depending on your headphones and DAP (being the later less important as any good DAP should have a neutral sound).
