If you are on rooted Android you could try creating network share to the location which has FLACs, provide network share path to Neutron's Source and listen to FLACs over network.

Thanks for the reply but I have a playbook as did the previous poster. Sorry for not stating that.
Currently there is no streaming FLAC player for the playbook. Closest app converts to mp3 and
stores the mp3 on the playbook.

Supporting UPnP protocol for Neutron probably would be the best for the start. There is plenty of UPnP AV media server software for major PC platforms, as well as hardware servers and UPnP is not that restricted as DNLA.

I would prefer the ability to play files from a dlna server. I router has this function built in and I'm using that with an attached 2.5" drive. That way my pc isn't running 24/7 and using energy.

On the topic of streaming, has the ability to see metadata from the stream (i.e. artist name and song title) been implemented?

I often listen to SOMA FM radio streams, and added the PLS file locations to Neutron. Playback works perfectly, but on the main screen it does not show the artist name or song title anywhere.

If this is built in already, how do I turn it on? If it's not built in already, do you have any plans to enable this?

Metadata reading from internet stream hasn't been implemented but it was asked already. Frankly speaking it missed to-do list I just put it there for review & implementation.

On a related note, could you implement copy/paste functionality on the Playbook? Being able to paste streaming urls directly would come in very handy.

Yes, it is one of the high priority tasks for Android & PlayBook platforms.
