I was looking forward to trying normalization with this update. Unfortunately, Neutron crashed each time I tried that, so I deleted and reinstalled. Then I tried the Database settings, like ALB Folder and Prefer art metatag. In both cases, the number of songs that Neutron could see dropped from 1724 to 893, and the number of albums dropped by 1/2. The albums normally at the top of the list start with numbers. Those disappear. The slider control also seems to get thrown up to the top of the album list, when the database issue kicks in, even if the list is showing the bottom albums (as if the slider can still see the whole list, but the UI displaying the list can not.
Deleting the source does drop all the counts to zero, and all albums on the list do disappear. Adding a new source only returns the reduced number of songs and albums. Rescan makes no difference.
The only way to restore the missing albums is to delete and reinstall the app, then don't touch any database settings.
Rats.
[FIXED] Playbook database problems with version 1.65
Re: Playbook database problems with version 1.65
I got several reports that in 64-bit rendering mode there is misbehavior: namely some formats like ape, wma, aac, alac won't play. In standard 32-bit mode all is ok. Were you using 64-bit mode?
Re: Playbook database problems with version 1.65
Yes, I was using 64-bit rendering, when I had those problems.
With the 64-bit off, I can now use the database settings without losing half the albums.
I have also been able to normalize all 1724 songs. Thanks for the tip. Hope you can also restore the 64-bit playback.

Re: Playbook database problems with version 1.65
The problem was localized. It was unlucky packaging issue where 64-bit core It is already solved and update is pending review by App World, so if it does not happen on early Monday on Tuesday it will be guaranteed.
