Hello,
A newbie question.
We always talk about supported audio formats for a player.
I also understand that the decoder is not in the player but in the DAC which receives digital data from the player.
So the supported formats are actually determined by the DAC, not the player?
Thanks in advance,
Zx
Supported audio formats and DAC
Re: Supported audio formats and DAC
No, the decoding is done by the player. It takes mp3, flac, whatever, transforms these files into a bitstream representing the music, that's the decoding. Then it amplifies according to your preamp-setting, then equalizes, then compresses ... and then sends to the DAC. Have a look at Settings > DSP Effect > Effect Chain Order, there you see some of the things done with the music.
