CUE timing is offset, depending on file type

Post by ELpH » Mon Aug 14, 2017 10:45 pm

Hi, I'm checking out the demo of Neutron, great player but I've noticed the track cue timing is off. Tracks start slightly sooner than they should, resulting in trails from the previous tracks being played at the beginning of the next track. The severity depends depends on the song and the file type.

I've included an example (poorly recorded using phone -> phone, but accurately depicts the problem):

https://mega.nz/#!VcV0VCia!VhwJ4n1RM-Dn ... an9atuvNT8

0:00 aac (small blip)
0:11 alac (small blip)
0:26 flac (sounds accurate to cd and other cue compatible players)
0:41 mp3 (large trail from previous track)
1:02 ogg (sounds accurate to cd and other cue compatible players)
1:18 wav (sounds accurate to cd and other cue compatible players)

To avoid any confusion, I'm using single audio file + CUE format.
ex.
artist - album.flac
artist - album.cue

Bumping this one up - I am seeing the same behavior. Thanks to the OP for the file type testing, in my case I am using CUE and MP3 single files and see a 5 odd second trail of the previous track at the sart of the current track.

I've turned off all fader effects and anything else I could find that might create a buffer for DSP, but to no avail. My guess is there is some time taken to seek to the correct index and this is not being compensated for.

I am on the latest version from the appstore as of today, updates run automatically. LG V30+ on Android 8.
