Notification LED Playbook & location settings?
Notification LED Playbook & location settings?
Hi there,
I have noticed an annoying bug, since the last upgrade (1.74.3) on my BB Playbook. When NeutronMP is started (even when it is idle, so no music playing) the notification LED on the Playbook is blinking (purple color).
This is quite annoying. Is there a way to shut down the notification LED?
Saving settings on Playbook:
From the FAQ: Q: After uninstallation and then reinstallation I have all my settings lost, is it possible to avoid that?
A: To avoid loosing your setup you could try creating folder (on Android) /sdcard/NeutronMP, (on BlackBerry) shared/misc/NeutronMP and copy there these files: neutronmp.db, streaming.xml, eq_presets.xml taken from /sdcard/Android/data/com.neutroncode.mp.
I am able to create a folder in the following path:
playbook:/accounts/1000/shared/misc
However in the path:
playbook:/sdcard/Android/data there is no folder for Neutron.
The only folder I can find on the playbook is:
playbook:/apps/com.neutroncode.mp.gYABgEHkB4m.qun (and more blabla code)
However that folder is empty.
Dmtry, can you point out the correct directory for the settings on the BB Playbook?

Hi!
> the notification LED on the Playbook is blinking (purple color)
It means that Neutron is detecting overloaded audio and it is happening constantly. May be try normalizing your tracks (long press album/folder -> BIND EQ -> NORMALIZE -> select (ALL) and confirm. Normalization will guarantee that overloading is not happening.
> /accounts/1000/shared/misc
You need to create NeutronMP in /accounts/1000/shared/misc, e.g. you will get /accounts/1000/shared/misc/NeutronMP

Re: Notification LED Playbook & location settings?
Hi Dmitry,
I am suffering from the same LED problem as the OP.
The LED is flashing when neutron is not even playing music.
Prior to the latest update my playbook would flash the LED when it detected clipping/overload (very cool feature BTW ) but now it just blinks as if it has got an email but the light is purple instead of red.
I love the features in Neutron and I miss the LED showing clipping like it used to.
Thanks
Ed

Re: Notification LED Playbook & location settings?
Hi Dmitry,
I agree with Poster Ed. even when I do not play any music at all, and the application is just idle, then the light is still blinking.
So as soon as I start NeutronMP, start a music file, stop the music file, the light (purple) keeps on blinking.
I was able to fix the other issue with the correct path to settings, thanks for that !
I hope you have a fix for the blinking light as it is quite annoying.

Re: Notification LED Playbook & location settings?
Has anyone solved this annoying problem with the flashing (pink/purple) light on the playbook? I can't use neutron sleep timer because of the continuous flashing. It started right after the last neutron update. Overall the program is much more stable now. But the flashing light?
Thanks
Brian
Thanks

I agree with Brian, it is an annoying feature. Would it be possible to fix this in the next release?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Most probably fixing the CPU over-usage on BB10 10.1-2 resulted in LED event not cancelled. It is of course is a bug which must and will be fixed asap.
Quick workaround for this bug on current version (1.74.3) would be to disable AGP feature:
- switch off AGP button in Controls screen or from Settings menu.
