Bluetooth streaming distortion

Post by h5n1hk888 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 7:11 am

I hear distortion during BT streaming to my car audio. I have enable 64 bit processing, what should I do to ensure the Neutron output is matching the BT streaming standard (16bit 44.1kHz). Thanks for your attention.

What kind of distortion is it? Like bad frequencies, or overloaded audio, or occasionally clipping sound? Could you please provide more details. You could try line-in/-out connection in your car with max volume set on device. Some times BT connection can be compressed that will cause quality degradation, also clipping could occur due to bugs in A2DP software on receiving part.

I use the n7 player also, n7 bluetooth streaming do not have that distortion. The distortion is mainly in high frequencies. It is not very obvious but it is always there. Can you tell me whether Neutron mp will down sample 24 bit to 16 bit 44.1kHz for BT? And is it true that BT streaming only support 16 bit data and 44.1kHz? :?:

To the OP - check your equalizers are flat first and other audio settings off - now plain vanilla do you have the problem?

To all2ezey - INTJ hey? Check this link - don't worry about the Album art focus just check the tag stuff

Hope that helps.

Android OS is always 16/44.1. So, any other format is converted to it. In case of A2DP Neutron does not do anything special, it just keeps sending data to OS and OS routes it to correct destination. Thus, if you hear correct sound from line-out and something different from BT device then the problem is inside OS <> A2DP.
